ASKING FOR AND GIVING DIRECTIONS

Excuse me, can you tell me the way to the gas station please?

Sure! Go straight ahead and turn right at the cinema. Then take the first left. Past the hotel and turn right at the corner. The gas station is at the end of the street on your left just in front of the stadium.

Thank you.

You are welcome.

You can say WHERE to do an action with ‘AT’. For example: “Turn right at the traffic lights”.

You can say move after a place in particular with ‘PAST’. For example: “Go straight on, past the traffic lights”.

Activity:

What directions would you give to go from Dick’s house to the toy factory?

What directions would you give to from Fiona’s house to the supermarket?

  1. You have to walk straight trough the park and cross it. At the gate you will see a Shoe Store and turn to the left. Cross the bridge and turn first to right

Walk to the left and first to the right. Pass under the bridge and turn left before the tunnel. Leave the hospital to the right and Train Station to the left and next building to the right you will see the Supermarket
