MUCH , MANY and A LOT OF are used to express that there is a large quantity of something. Much and Many are used in negative sentences and questions. Many is used with countable nouns. Example: He doesn’t have many toys. Much is used with uncountable nouns. Example: I don’t have much time to have lunch. With the word " times " which means frequently or often, we use many times . Example: I have been in London many times. In positive sentences we almost always use a lot of. A lot of can be used with countable and uncountable nouns. Examples: He has a lot of toys. / There is a lot of pollution today.
