APRIL FOOLS' DAY

Celebrated on the 1 st of April, April Fools’ Day, also known as All Fool’s Day is one of the most light-hearted days of the year. It is the custom in the UK and many countries around the world to play tricks, harmless pranks and practical jokes on someone. A simple example would be telling your friend that their shoelaces are undone. If the person falls for the joke, then they are called an ‘April Fool’. That’s why you shouldn’t believe what is said to you on this day. Of course all this is done just for fun. In fact, it’s only half a day because April Fools’ Day finishes at midday. Superstition says that playing pranks past noon or not responding to pranks with good humor will attract bad luck. No more jokes after lunchtime, please!    It is a custom that is followed by several media (television, radio stations, newspapers…) to carry fake stories.
