FEW / LITTLE

We use few and little to suggest a small quantity or amount of something. Few (not many) is used with plural countable nouns. Example: There are few people in the classroom. Little (not much) is used with uncountable nouns. Example: There is little milk in the fridge. While Few and Little usually have negative meanings, especially when used with very . A few (some) and A little (some) normally convey a positive idea. Examples: I have a few friends living in London. (Countable noun) There is a little milk in the fridge. (Uncountable noun)  Write some sentences with much, many, a lot of, few, little, a few and a little.

MUCH, MANY, A LOT OF

MUCH , MANY and A LOT OF are used to express that there is a large quantity of something. Much and Many are used in negative sentences and questions. Many is used with countable nouns. Example: He doesn’t have many toys. Much is used with uncountable nouns. Example: I don’t have much time to have lunch. With the word " times " which means frequently or often, we use many times .   Example: I have been in London many times. In positive sentences we almost always use a lot of. A lot of can be used with countable and uncountable nouns. Examples:   He has a lot of toys. / There is a lot of pollution today.

HOW MUCH / HOW MANY

We use How much and How many when we want to know the quantity of something. HOW MANY is used with plural countable nouns. Examples: How many days are there in February? How many people live in your house? How many siblings do you have? HOW MUCH is used with uncountable nouns. Examples: How much money do you have in your wallet? How much time do you need to finish the activity? We use also How much when we want to know the PRICE of something. In this case, we can use it with both singular and plural countable nouns. Examples: How much is that red car? How much are those pants? How much did your T shirt cost?   Write some questions with How much and How many and answer them. 

SOME / ANY

We use A/AN (articles) with singular countable nouns . We use SOME and ANY with plural nouns and uncountable nouns . Some is generally used in positive sentences. Example: I have some friends in London. Any is generally used in negative sentences and questions . Example: Do you have any pets? No, I don’t have any pets. But some is used in the following questions : 1. When we offer something. Example: Would you like some tea ? 2. When we ask for something. Example: Can I have some milk please ? 3. When we suggest something. Example: Why don't we do some sports?   Write some senteces with A, AN, THE, SOME and ANY

THERE IS / THERE ARE

We use there is (singular)/ there are (plural) to say that something exists or doesn’t exist, happens and how many. There is: only one thing or uncountable nouns. Example: There is a book on the table.                  There are: two or more things (plural nouns). Example: There are two books on the table.   Write some sentences with there is, there are, there was and there were in their affirmative, negative and interrogative forms.
